Hi,

I am running windows XP homem and recently installed SP2 and after reboot, my account has disappeared from
the welcome screen.
I then logged on as my wife and see my account is still
there. I changed the logon welcome screen to the classic screen and entered my username and password and got the message above.

Any ideas how I get myself back into my PC as myself????

I have found several threads relating to other versions of windows or XP, but I amrunning XP home on a small home peer network. I do not have group policy editors, etc that are on servers or XP pro.

PLEEEEESE HELP - I AM DESPERATE!!!

So you absolutely sure there is no gpedit.msc in your system?

Hi!

Not sure if it will work as I'm not within Home edition at all. But anyway, try this:

1.- Go to Control Panel -> User accounts and see what group of accounts you're in.

2.- Go to Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Local Security Policy -> User Rights Assignment -> Log on locally and see the properties. There add the group of accounts you're in.

Hope it works...
Cheers!
