Dear friends,
Narek Kocharyan, 15 years old - killed in Podmoskovie, Russia a few days ago...just because he was Armenian.
Within the past few months, Vigen Abrahamyants, Samvel Tadevosyan and Narek Grigoryan have also ethnic Armenians been killed in Russia... because they were Armenian.
Moreover, according to Regnum.ru "at least 3000 Armenians were killed in Russia within the past ten years."...
Unfortunately, the Russian government is not taking many actions to fight against these barbaric murders and the trend is not going away anytime soon. Several times, there have been recently organized (within the past two years) in front of the Russian Embassy in Yerevan with hopes that there would be an apologetic statement or some recognition of such barbaric murders. Yet there has been no response.
We shall now be underpinning the responsibility and accountability of the Republic of Armenia, which is constitutionally designated to protect Armenian citizens in foreign countries trough MFA and Embassies abroad. We are going to demand concrete and prompt actions of Armenian Government towards slack and unclear legal processes, legal arbitrates and disrespect for Armenian citizens and ethnic Armenians in the Russian Federation.
Please do not stay ignorant, TAKE ACTION! Join us tomorrow, November 17 at 15:00 in front of Ministry of Foreign Affairs to show your support against these murders of ethnic Armenians in Russia.

Isabella jan, thank you for the announcement, but it would make more sense if it was posted earlier ( I would for one make a banner if I had time or ask for a day off to be able to be there).

Also, I know some people who would participate in the previous protest in front of Russian embassy if the only knew! There were hardly 30 people on that day partly because the announcement was not circulated properly.

I know..I wish I could, but the tragic event with Narek happened on Saturday and information has appeared in media two days ago. So we haven't have time to wait: today or never

MFA does not functioning on weekends, there are no newspapers on Monday, so the next possible date we could announce in advance was Tuesday, which is too late

Just another clarification I want to do. Many people ask why we do an action on weekday and at working hour. The matter is simple. If we address someone we have to do it when mentioned institution is "open" and there are people in the ministry/embassy. Than we have to take media into consideration as well. This is why and unfortunately there is no other timing we can afford

Tuesday is too late for what? I would hope people do not forget things like that in a week. Why today or never? I don't understand and I guess I'm just upset I cannot join.

I feel upset as well..but people really react with anger and energy just when it is "hot". With every single day passing it is more and more difficult to make people somehow act. Yes, we forget..statistics on Regnum says 3000 armenians were killed in past 10 years in Russia. We react just for few days and than everyday problems around us calm us down.
But I do agree there should be constatnt action not just sporadic piquets twice a year, when real people die and already too late anyway

Меня на самом деле радует больше всего то, что 2 русско и армяноязычных дамы беседуют на английском. Все приглашения постятся на английском. Отличная языковая политика по защите армян.
