Post cd-rom not working
If I put a CD into my drive... it doesn't start. XP says that I've insert a CD and the yellow lamp of my CD-rom is only flashing. What the hell is wrong with this thing?

CD disk might be damaged or dirty. Try to clean up working surface carefully.

You may also need to take the CDROM drive cover off and clean the lense, but do it after you are sure the problem is not the disk, but the drive only.
