Default Maxtor or Seagate Barracuda?

If I want to get a hard drive, which of these 2 HDDs is better?

Default Why exactly?

Is it the brand/reliability or parameters or something else?

Is it true that Maxtor's cache is 8MB and seagate's is 2MB?
