Default Internal Auditor - UMCOR, Aregak Armenia

Position: Internal Auditor

Organization: UMCOR, Aregak Armenia

Category: Local Staff

Purpose:
UMCOR Armenia is Armenian branch of NGO "United Methodist Committee on
Relief" operating as a humanitarian agency. Aregak is UMCOR's micro-lending
program in Armenia and NK, serving predominantly women with micro-loans and
other financial products.

To continuously monitor loan programs, UMCOR is currently searching for an
Internal Auditor for UMCOR Aregak programs. Carry out internal audit and
independent appraisal of the effectiveness of the policies, procedures and
standards by which the UMCOR Aregak's financial, staff, physical and
information resources are managed.

The Internal Auditor will report to GBGM/UMCOR General Treasurer, through
UMCOR-NGO Internal Auditor. This position also requires coordination with
the Regional Finance Director.

Duties and responsibilities:
-To work with management to ensure effective internal control systems and
policies and procedures are in place, which ensures that all major risks are
identified and analyzed, on an annual basis.
-To plan, organize and carry out the internal audit function including the
preparation of an audit plan, which fulfils the responsibility of the
internal audit.
-To report to the UMCOR Treasurer on the policies, programs and activities
of the Aregak.
-To ensure transparency and reconciliation of ACCPAC and MICRED portfolio
balances.
-To make recommendations on the systems and procedures being reviewed,
report on the findings and recommendations and monitor management's response
and implementation.
-To review and report on the accuracy, timeliness and relevance of the
financial and other information that is provided for management.
-To work with management to ensure a system is in place which ensure that
all major risks of Aregak are identified and analyzed, on an annual basis
-To conduct any reviews or tasks requested by UMCOR Management or RFD,
provided that such reviews and tasks do not compromise the independence or
objectivity of the internal audit function.
-To provide both management and the Head quarter with an opinion on the
effectiveness of Aregak internal controls and business operations.

Requirements:
-MBA, Finance or accounting. ACA or ACCA preferred. Three years audit or
five years finance and accounting experience required. Ability to gather,
analyze and evaluate facts and to prepare and present concise oral and
written reports. An understanding of and empathy with the Micro-Finance
sector.
-English and computer skills are required
