Finance Officer/Accountant / IREX

The International Research & Exchanges Board (IREX) is a Washington-based
international non-profit organization that manages exchange and professional
training programs in Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia.

International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX) currently seek to fill the
position of IREX Finance Officer/Accountant for the IREX-Armenia office.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the certifying officer for IREX/Armenia, with responsibility for
the accuracy and propriety of all payments;
- Provide a full range of financial services include development of budgets
and financial plans, control of obligations and expenditures, preparation
and audit of payment vouchers, administration of payroll plans, salary and
allowance payments, cashier operations, the purchase of Armenian currency,
and disbursement of funds;
- Establish and maintain close relations with local banking officials and
tax authorities in order to ensure that IREX/Armenia is abreast of all
compliance issues, as well as banking services offered;
- Compile and submit the monthly wire request, expense report, as well as
the proper documents to the tax authorities in Armenia.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous professional experience as a Finance officer or Accountant;
- Knowledge and understanding of the Armenia tax system;
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to meet pressing deadlines;
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently;
- Ability to respond to immediate staff needs and ability to remain calm
under pressure;
- Fluency in English, Armenian (written and oral);
- Strong computer skills;
- Must be a team player.
