students to show their abilities and to select among them the best ones

Announce An Armenian Open Programming Competition

It consists of two separate competitions:

The Individual competition (for students only).
The competitioners in the Final Stage must solve 3 problems in 3 hours.
During the competition each student will be given a workstation.
For solving the problems the participants may use different programming
languages: C++, Visual C++, Visual Basic, Java or Pascal.
The participants should register

from May 6-18, till 17:00 at the Yerevan University of Management
and Information Technologies (YUMIT) or on-line at

The Screening Stage of the registered participants will take place at
YUMIT on May 19, at 10:00.
The participants must present their passports and student cards.
The Final Stage of individual competition will be held on May 26 at
10:00, at YUMIT.

The Team competition
(teams, each consisting of 3 participants, without age limitations)

The teams must solve 9 problems in 5 hours. Each team will be given a
workstation. During the competition for solving the problems the
competitioners may use different programming languages: MS VC++, Borland
Jbuilder, Delphi, MS VB or Java/Windows IDE.

The leaders should register the teams

from May 6-19, till 19:00 at the UITE office or on-line at http://www.uite.am

The Screening Stage of the leaders of the registered teams will take
place on May 21 at 10:00-16:00 at YUMIT.
The team leaders must present their passports.
The Final Stage of team competition will be held in Yerevan on May 29
at 10:00, at Lans LTD (49 Komitas St.).

The results of the competitions will be evaluated by the Jury
consisting of well-known and experienced specialists in the field of Information
Technologies.

The winners of the competitions will receive Award Certificates from
the Steering Committee and prizes (computers, computer accessories, free
internet access and money awards) from the sponsors.

I wonder what kind of problems are they going to suggest. I mean is it going to be an algorithmic problem? Also, does anybody know about Jury members? The online registration form seems not be working.
In short, I'll probably visit them tomorrow to get the info, but if someone knows the details please reply.

I've been there and registered for the team competition. Not to say that they told me much.
We just registered. There was a biiiig form for each team member, and they wanted to know
even my T-Shirt size

.
The guy who was responsible for the competition information service was out, and we could not
learn much. They've promissed to email me the details, but I've got no mail from them.

I'm going to apply for the individual competition, probably monday. Hope they will be able to
tell us something

Again, if someone have the info plz let us know

PPL DO YOU KNOW WHAT KINDS OF PROBLEMS DO THEY OFFER ..
To make up programs for example "Hashvel ayn tveri qanak@ voronc artadryal@ mec e mekic" ?
Or "Make a program like LINUX or Windows "
