Американская компания PBS сняла фильм о Геноциде 1915. Начинание безусловно благое, но.
Накануне показа фильма, конкретнее 17 апреля, планируется запустить в эфир "дискуссию" по вопросам Геноцида, в которой учавствуют два "историка" - американский и турецкий, отрицающих Геноцид.
Инициаторы "дискуссии" комментируют это следующим образом "надо выслушать обе стороны"
На вопрос армянской общественности, готовы ли они устраивать аналогичные дискуссии по вопросу Холокоста, даются уклончивые ответы типа "мы на гипотетические вопросы не отвечаем"

It is welcome news that PBS is planning to broadcast Andrew Goldberg's "The Armenian Genocide" documentary on April 17, 2006. However, we are immensely hurt by the news that this will be followed by a 25 minute long discussion by a panel that includes two genocide deniers.

We are confident that the Armenian Genocide scholars will present a superb scholarly case, but we strongly feel that debating the Armenian Genocide is akin to arguing about the Jewish Holocaust in order to project a sense of balance. Would PBS ever contemplate such a program?

Turkish denials of the genocide are part of a state-sponsored policy of propaganda that serves only the interests of Turkey. The historical truth of the Armenian genocide has been established beyond reasonable doubt by abundant documentary and eye-witness evidence from thousands of sources. Furthermore, denialist views of genocide are already included in the film; thus the panel discussion would serve to emphasize the Turkish state's official position and undermine the non political nature of your programming.

Broadcasting the panel discussion may result in a substantial loss of support from viewers of PBS.

We the undersigned urge you not to approve the airing of the panel discussion.

Турци за показ этого фильма собрали 25 392 подписи, а армяне всего 13 189!

Ну что тут говорить..Геноцид, конечно, был, правда его вызвали, скажем так, всем любимые дашнаки....
Но 1,5 млн. человек, кто бы ни был виноват- пропали...И им "помогли" турки.... Это факт....

As you may know, we have received several messages questioning our
decision to provide a follow-up panel discussion to the documentary THE
ARMENIAN GENOCIDE.

Implicit in PBS' decision to accept THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE for
distribution is its recognition that the overwhelming majority of historians and
organizations have concluded that a genocide took place.

The intent of the panel, entitled THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE, EXPLORING THE
ISSUES, is to examine the question of how historians can come to such
radically divergent conclusions about these events. This is a complex
topic for discussion, and one that most Americans do not fully understand
as an ongoing source of controversy.

We hope you understand our thinking, even if you still disagree with
our decision to provide the panel to our member stations. These two sides
rarely discuss this in the same forum, and we think it only helps
elucidate the truth to have this discussion in its broadest context.

A key part of PBS' public service mission is to serve as a place where
dialogue and thoughtful debate can help to illuminate issues. We
greatly appreciate your interest in our programming and in this issue, and we
