EU rejects Turkey membership bid

The European Union has rejected Turkey’s membership bid over the country’s geographical location in Minor Asia but not in Europe, French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel said in a joint statement.

The European leaders said Turkey will be offered privileged partnership, Dni.ru reports.
