Azerbaijan and Armenia Karabakh resolution

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ Azerbaijan and Armenia have coordinated the issues referring to demilitarization, deployment of peacekeepers, return of lands and refugees, said Sabine Freizer, Director of the Europe Program of the International Crisis Group.

The sides can’t coordinate some key aspects on the width of the corridor uniting Nagorno Karabakh and Armenia as well as the mechanism of voting in Karabakh.

“After the presidential election both in Armenia and Azerbaijan it will be possible to tackle the Karabakh problem,” she said.

According to her, Armenia and Azerbaijan should raise the public awareness of the details of the negotiation process. “Both sides should stop warlike statements,” she said, Trend reports.

Azerbaijan in panic over Kosovo independence

/PanARMENIAN.Net/ “Azerbaijan is in a clear panic over what they are afraid might become the Kosovo precedent. They are putting words in people’s mouths, forcing public statements by others on Azerbaijan’s one-sided and wishful version of the Nagorno Karabakh solution,” said Tigran Balayan, Acting Head of the Media Relations Division at the RA Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Armenia reiterates that each conflict is distinct and that each self-determination movement needs to be allowed to evolve on its own merits,” he said.

“The more Azerbaijan tries to insist that Kosovo is not a precedent, the more people will think that there perhaps are obvious parallels with other conflicts,” Mr Balayan said, RA MFA press office reported.

Об этом заявил журналистам заместитель министра иностранных дел Азербайджана Араз Азимов, подчеркнув, что "какие бы прецеденты не были созданы в других регионах, они не изменят существующую здесь реальность". "С другой стороны, Армения сама тоже должна думать, что она приобретает и что теряет, и без соблюдения этого принципа конфликт не будет урегулирован, Армении придется жить каждый день под угрозой начала войны с Азербайджаном. Скорейшее урегулирование, в первую очередь, в интересах самого армянского народа", - заявил он.
