and begin to learn to administer Linux.

operating systems and now wish to perform these tasks on a Linux system

Administrators, who want to learn to handle the technical responsibilities of managing a Red Hat Linux system.

• Orientation in the System (config files, commands, manuals, log files...)
  
• Installing, removing and view RPM
  
• Run levels, startup files, single user mode, root password recovery ...)
  
• Common Linux commands (top, df, lsof, pgrep, ps, locate, whereis, chmod...)
  
• Linux Networking (interfaces, IP aliases, routes, troubleshoots...)
  
• Linux Firewalls using iptables
  
• Configuring Httpd server
  
• Configuring a Linux FTP server
  
• SSHD, TFTP
  
• Configuring DNS server
  
• Configuring DHCPD
  
• Web Hosting With The Apache Web Server
  
• Configuring Linux Mail server
  
• Configuring Squid proxy server
  
• Configuring VPN
  
• Advanced Monitoring with MRTG
  
• ACT Linux box as router
  
• Webmin tools
  
• shell script programming
  
• Server Security (httpd, sshd, mail, squid, dns, dhcpd)

DURATION: 40 hours

START TIME: December 2008

Ym, do you really think Windows users need info on configuring firewalls, VPNs, ssdh, setting up web server, etc.. etc..

What about making some course specially for general users, and teaching them how to perform their daily tasks using Linux and popular FOSS? On something userfriednly such as Ubuntu, openSUSE or Mandriva?

This course is designed for EVERYONE interested in LINUX SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION. The participant of this training can be even the person with user-level skills but with strong intend to become a Linux expert someday.

We use the down to top learning model. Linux discovered from installation principles to wide range of configs, security tricks, VPNs and more.

We choose Fedora Core. I think after learning Fedora switching to other Linux based systems would be easy.

Курс вроде интересный, но подано все очень уж топорно. Потенциального клиента нельзя отбривать фразами типа:

- нужна конкретика, ведь не с детского сада люди придут.
Убежден, что разбивка курса на этапы позволила бы привлечь больше клиентов и при этом доходность бы не сократилась (если грамотно организовать курс).

Ya konechno privetstvuyu kritiku i voprosi po sushestvu, no real'no udivilas', chto na prostoe obyavlenie vi sreagirovali predlozheniyami marketologicheskogo xaraktera. Pochemu imenno etot kurs, pochemu imenno organizovan ne otdel'nimi etapami i tem bolee doxodnost' tut ne obsuzhdaetsya.
