Web Programming Contest

First time in Armenia Lycos Armenia, Enterprise Incubator Foundation And
Union of Information Technology Enterprises

Announce the First Web Programming Contest.

Young people from 17 to 30 years old from Armenia who considers their skills
competitive in Java/JSP or PHP
is eligible to apply for the contest.

Contest will be individual base and may involve a screening stage.

Applicants should be familiar with:
. Operating systems: Windows or Linux (free choice)
. Database: MySQ 4.0.x
. PHP engine 4.3.x for PHP (www.php.net)
. Tomcat for Java/JSP

Contest participants will be given 4 hours to develop a functioning
database driven web application
(developed and tested). Participants will be provided with specifications,
which will consist of a short
description of the application, screenshots and static HTML code for the
most important pages.

The application will be judged by time of development and completeness,
according to the specifications. The
detailed rules for the judgment will be provided closer to the contest date.

The Contest will be conducted from 13th of September in the computer
Laboratories of Lycos Armenia. The
winners will be awarded with certificates and prizes: job offers, computer
accessories, training offers,
financial support etc.

Applications for contest participation can be obtained on July 27th onward
from the Union of Information
Technology Enterprises (Yerevan, 1/3 P. Byuzand, 4th floor). Applications
also can be filled in online on
www.uite.org.

Deadline for application is 9th of September, 2004, 18:00.

The list of competition participants with details of participation will be
available on www.uite.org,
starting from 9th of September, 2004.
