why?...because the opinion of majority IS the truth. Actually the truth itself may be understood in vary meanings, so to avoid lot of conflicts and misunderstandings people defined the common meaning of truth based on opinion of majority. Of course that definition not supposed to be ideal and everyone admit that but it makes our life easy.
Yea, and without this definition the chaos would be spread all over the world.

First of all guys sorry for offtopic.
Well acid jan, I actually think that THE OPINION OF MAJORITY may not BE TRUE for some people.
For example, if you call a TABLE, a TABLE, you call it a table because EVERYBODY calls it "A TABLE".
The point is that, THE OPINION OF MAJORITY CAN'T BE TAKEN FOR THE TRUTH, the TRUTH IS SOME OTHER THING, and may be we have no idea about it.
I guess my explanation was simple, at least I did my best to make it as simple as possible <img src="smooch-1.gif" border="0">

I am absolutely agree that "THE OPINION OF MAJORITY may not BE TRUE for some people". I didn't say the opposite.

But look again at the words you said -> "the TRUTH IS SOME OTHER THING". By this expression you are trying to say that there is actual truth and it is hiding somewhere but somehow just few people can reach it. That's not exactly fit into my understanding of truth. It is much more abstract concept rather than exact thing. Anyways, one can always fight and win with his own truth and for his own truth even if it's not accepted by majority. I just want to express my opinion that by telling that the truth has been replaced with opinion of majority you are telling that there is another truth, but...there is not <img src="smooch-1.gif" border="0">
