K1111NG us softly, with their song...

[FONT=Fixedsys] You are what you, eat and drink, say, and do... We will leave out the say and do until later and focus on the first two only, What if we were being bred to die??? Scary thought if that were true. Lucky for us, 'Uncle Sam' would never do such a thing to the people He governs over. However, what if that statement held validity? If fear is an illusion, then why not safety? Humans thrived for millions of years without synthetic chemical products. Do you have to eat Oreo's and drink Diet Coke? Do you have to have partially hydrogenated vegetable oils and high fructose corn syrup? Hydrogenation is a process of heating an oil and passing hydrogen bubbles through it. The fatty acids in the oil then acquire some of the hydrogen, which make even more of their low-grade, unhealthy, crappy products that we purchase because, "it's a lot cheaper". Partially hydrogenated oils will not only kill you in the long term by producing diseases like cancer, multiple sclerosis and allergies, but in the meantime they will make you fat, addicted, and prone to ADHD! Cheap chemicals benefit the manufacturer’s bottom line, not you.

We dislike debates about synthetic ingredients with those who profit from them. All I know is that cancer is a wretched way to go and it would seem that over the past 60 years, more and more of us go out that way. There has to be a reason why. Now, I am NOT pointing a finger at our government and corporations, but one and one equals two and I like adding things up. Here's what I know. Environmentalists are usually quite vocal about perceived threats ranging from pesticides to global warming, there is a silence when it comes to one threat already harming the water supply and that is hormones from birth-control pills.

Here are references from "Food and Water Watch". (Fun Little Factoids):

* Obesity may soon become the No. 1 killer of Americans.
* A new study shows that obesity soon will overtake tobacco as the No.1 killer of Americans
* Your next hamburger could be bad for your health because carbon monoxide made it appear to be fresher than it is.
* Consumers lose too. The food in grocery stores is likely to have been produced using practices that damage the environment and threaten public health.
* 40% of the bottled water sold in the United States is tap water anyway.
* The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requires hundreds of tests each month on municipal water supplies, but the Food and Drug Administration,
which regulates bottled water, requires only one test a week on bottled water.
* Only 40% of bottled water--that which is sold across state lines--is regulated by the FDA in the first place.
* Plastic bottles in the United States require some 1.5 million barrels of oil to manufacture each year--enough to power 100,000 cars.
* 86% of plastic bottles in the United States never get recycled.
* Tap water costs about a penny a gallon and bottled waters costs up to $10 a gallon.
* Chemicals that leach from plastic water bottles may affect our health.

Help yourself:

~ Properly dispose of drugs and antibiotics, don't flush them down the toilet.
~ Stop falling for the marketing hype and boycott products with the antibiotic triclosan in them
~ Cut back on factory meat and GO ORGANIC; those cows and pigs live on a diet of antibiotics
~ No soft drinks - demand that all soft drinks be replaced with drinking water or 100% fruit juices.
~ Juices should not be sweetened with high fructose syrup, a leading cause of your children developing diabetes.
~ Whole grains in bread products
~ NO FOODS CONTAINING HYDROGENATED OILS or MONODIGLYCERIDES
~ NO FOODS CONTAINING MSG - ( MONOSODIUM GLUTAMATE )
~ NO FOODS CONTAINING ASPARTAME
~ Consider other methods of birth control; 85% of the estrogen in birth control pills goes right through you into the toilet.
~ Consider a charcoal filter; it helps a bit...
