The night of my beloved

[Red Stone]

Hi!

For a start the begining of an wonderful song from that monster (in the good sense) of brasilian music and poetry: Dorival Caymmi. A free translation of the first words:

Today I want the most beautiful rose out there
And the first star that comes up
For adorning the night of my beloved

If you like it I can translate a bit more of it...

[Red Stone]

Ok at the request of someone whose identity I can't reveal here goes the full translation of the poem:

Today I want the peace of a child sleeping
And the abandonning of flowers opening
For adorning the night of my beloved

I want the joy of a boat coming back
I want the tenderness of two hands meeting
For adorning the night of my beloved

Ah! I want love, the deepest love
I want all the beauty in the world
For adorning the night of my beloved!

Ah! As that beloved took so long for arriving!...
I don't know anymore if I'll have in my eyes
All the tenderness I want to give...

I know who was that
