Beyond Compare is great tool! I'll buy that software when I'll have enough money  ).It compares in text format, in hex format, it compares images, it's VERY comfortable. It's based on plugins, that means that you have to download plugin and you have one more comparing capability. And (finally  ) Beyond Compare written using Borland's products That tool helped (helps) me a lot.

Еще можно гонять сравнитель файлов в Windows Commandere, порой неплохо помогает.
