Lecture: "Armenia - future development prospects"
On October 4, 2004 Armenia 2020 is organizing a public lecture on "Armenia - future development prospects".
The lecturers will be Armenia 2020 representatives Ruben Vardanian and Noubar Afeyan.
Ruben Vardanian

Mr.Vardanian graduated from Moscow State University in the Department of Economics with Distinction in 1992. In 1993, he completed post-graduate training at BANCA CRT in Turin, Italy, and attended Merrill Lynch’s Emerging Markets Training Program in New York City. In 2000, Mr. Vardanian completed two courses at INSEAD, Value Based Management and Negotiation Dynamics. In 2001 Mr. Vardanian completed the General Manager Program at Harvard Business School.
In 2002, Mr.Vardanian was appointed CEO of Rosgosstrakh. Mr. Vardanian is a Member of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Vice-President of RUIE). Within RUIE, Mr. Vardanian is Head of the Committee on Corporate Governance, Head of the Working Group on Energy Reform, Arbitrator of the Corporate Ethics Committee, and a Member of the National Council for Corporate Governance. He is a Member of the Russian Corporate Competitiveness Council (CCC). Mr. Vardanian is a Board Member of the RTS, a member of the 2015 Club, Russia Chapter chairman of the YPO, and a Member of the Coordination Board of the Armenia 2020 project.
Noubar B. Afeyan, Ph.D.,

Mr. Afeyan currently serves as a Director for Flagship portfolio companies Affinnova, Beyond Genomics, Compound Therapeutics, Ensemble Discovery, Genstruct and Helicos BioSciences. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Governors of Boston University Medical School, and he is a member of several advisory boards including the Whitehead Institute at MIT, the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, the Center for Bits and Atoms at MIT’s Media Lab, and the Faculty of Engineering at McGill University
