Vacancy Announcement
The United Nations Development Programme in Armenia announces opening for
the following position:
Post Title: National Project Coordinator for "Assistance to the
implementation of commitments undertaken by the Republic of Armenia within
the WTO accession framework" Project
Starting Date: 1 November 2004
Duration: Three months probation with possible extension until December
2005.
Location: Yerevan, Armenia
Responsibilities:
The incumbent, under supervision of the UNDP Resident Representative, will
carry out overall coordination of the Project activities. In particular
he/she will be responsible for:
Leading, supervising and monitoring overall operational activities of the
Project;
Liasing with Government entities on consultations related to the expected
commitments;
Liasing with Donor entities on consultations related to the expected
commitments, in close cooperation with the UNDP Portfolio Manager;
Managing financial inputs delivery and ensuring planned outputs as per
Project Document and work plan;
Updating work plan;
Ensuring preparation of the project budget revisions, when necessary;
Monitoring the project budget execution;
Establishing project administrative structures, ensuring its efficient
operation;
Reporting to UNDP on financial and operational status of the Project;
Organising regional seminars;
Other related duties.
Qualifications:
Education: Advanced university degree in economics, business administration
or related field.
Experience: At least 8 years of related professional experience at national
level and at least 5 years working experience with international
organisations.
Computer/ICT Skills: Proficiency in the usage of computers and office
software package (MS Word, Excel, Power Point) and competency in the
handling of web based management systems (Internet, Intranet).
Skills: Good knowledge of foreign trade, investment and WTO membership
situation and the legal framework of the country. Ability to analyse
problems, make recommendations, and present proposals for improvement or
change in policies and procedures. Ability to express ideas clearly and
concisely, both orally and in writing. Demonstrates initiative, tact and
high sense of responsibility and discretion.
Languages: Fluency in Armenian, English and Russian.
