cry the beloved country, for the unborn child that will feel our fear, Let him not love the earth too deeply, Let him not laugh too gladly when the water runs throug his fingers, nor be moved too strongly when the birds sing in his land sky,nor give too much for a mounten or a vally ...For fear will rob him of all if he gave too much

there is a good Armenian saying that goes "uzheghi mot, isht el tuyn e meghavor", which translates to "before the strong, it's always the weak's fault". this very much describes the situation.
but on the micro level, i can feel your pain...

Ok, Human_Girl!
In Algiers (Algeria), about 40 years ago, Amilcar Cabral, the then leader of a movement for the independence of two portuguese colonies, said this to a then young portuguese poet, Manuel Alegre, self-exiled there:
Quote:
We both speak the same language, we both like sun cured codfish and red wine, why the hell don't we sit down and talk?
|
Unfortunately the then portuguese leaders didn't sit down and the people (not the leaders) had to suffer 11 years of war in Guine Bissau (besides 13 years in Angola and 11 in Mozambique).
Israeli and Palestinian they both claim descending from Abraham, so they are brothers and sisters, the languages are not so much different, and as far as I know, their tastes when at the table are not much different. We must add to this that they are both natural traders. There is only one thing missing: Sit down and talk! And there is something in excess: the interference of third counties (their leaders, not the people) not really interested in peace. Israeli, Palestinian and their leaders don't need moderators! They are adult and they know what's better for themselves. They don't need the advice of child nations' leaders.
Shalon!
Salam!
Peace!

I meant both. Israel is not very secure, as far as I know ... because of terrorism. Palestine is not secure as well. That's why when my friends (some of them live in Tel-Aviv) invite me to visit Israel I suggest them to meet somewhere else.

You have to use the old soviet way of solving ethniocal-territorial problems. Just merge into one state, with Jerusalem as a capital. you will have some 50-100 years of peace, but then another bloodshed will start that will make things even worse....

Just keep talking! And don't let others interfere.
And there is also something a palestinian guy (married to an american friend of mine) said to me one month after the world knew Israel and Palestine were holding secrete bilateral conversations (in Rabin's and Arafat's era):
Quote:
This is good but doesn't mean that we are going to start kissing eachother in the mouth! What's important on both sides is eliminating those who don't want peace!
|
I was a bit schocked then (as the guy was a moderate one), but time has proved he was absolutely right!
Shalon!
Salam!
Peace!

human_girl> you know it's not difficult to understand your situation. I just don't like any kinds of war! I don't like it because war is always innocent blood. And you always ask "why?" people die without war why do they want more people to die? :. so ... I understand you very well but you can't do anything ... it's not your fault.

almost every one i know said the same thing u'v just said but recently i began to know that this is wrong, i mean saying this is 120% wrong, cause if I and every one in mu age ( the future leaders) didn't do anything. who will???? but the problem is how, when and how...

believe me my freind alot of Israelis and Palastinians believe that "peace" is imposebel because the essue here is the land and both sides r not ready to give up. u know Rabeen was one of the best leaders but because of his goodness and willness to make peace they shot him..

u said it ur self if we did that "and there is no way that every one is gonna abrove" we'll have, sooner or later, a bloody war.
that's so right,

Human_girl , didn't you see the irony in post?
To my opinion the solution of Jewish-Palestinian problem is giving independence to the Palestinians. Israelis will take over Palestinians economically, and Palestinians will have their "Independence".

u know Analyst, u made me laugh... what an irony...so even if both sides make peace it will be apeace at all, for the reason u'v just said.. or even if they made peace Jerosalim will always creat a problem...
