GEVORG GEVORGYAN APPOINTED AS ARMENIAN MINISTER OF CULTURE AND YOUTH PROBLEMS
YEREVAN, February 7. /ARKA/. Armenian President Robert Kocharyan issued a decree appointing Gevorg Gevorgyan as RA Minister of Culture and Youth Problems, the RA President's Press Service reported.
Gevorg Gevorgyan was born on September 15, 1948. He graduated from Yerevan Polytechnic Institute after Marx as Ìåchanical Engineer. In 1976-1978 he studied in the Marxism-Leninism University, majored in journalism. In 1983 he participated in the courses of qualification of creative and administrative officers of cinematography (in Moscow).
In 1971-1974 he worked as the chief of the "Yerevan" film studio, during 1974-1977 as a president of a company, and in 1977-1982 - as deputy-director. In the period of 1982-1986 he worked at the "Armenfilm" film studio as a president of the company, in 1986-1992 - as a vice-president, from 1992 to 2006 as a president.
He was awarded diplomas of the RA President and Premier for his active participation in a number of cultural activities organized by the Government.
He knows Armenian, Russian and English (with a dictionary). He is married and has three children.
RA Ex-Minister Hovik Hoveyan was released from his post on his own initiative on January 7, 2006. R.O. -0--
