The U.S. Embassy in Yerevan, Armenia is seeking an individual for the position of a Training Program Assistant in the Office of Defense Cooperation.

Basic Function of Position

Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks, which include the functions of planning, management and execution of Armenia’s annual International Military Education and Training (IMET) Program, one of the major ODC Programs, as well as Counter Terrorism Fellowship Program (CTFP) and Foreign Military Funding (FMF) training programs. Coordinates and administers IMET funds. Serves as the in-country English Language Training Program (ELTP) Manager. Serves as liaison between ODC and Armenian Defense Organizations.

Qualifications Required
NOTE: All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.

- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Foreign Languages, Finance, Business, Management, International Relations or other related field.
- Minimum three years of progressively responsible administrative, project management or budgetary work experience.
- Level IV (fluent) in English and Armenian required.
- Basic knowledge of military organization and operations.
- Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, PowerPoint) is required. Must be familiar with programs aimed a writing CDs, downloading/working with pictures, printing labels and envelops, business cards, etc.)
- Must have excellent numerical and analytical mind.

Selection Process
When equally qualified, US Citizen Eligible Family Members (AEFMs) and U.S. Veterans will given preference. Therefore, it is essential that the candidate address the required qualifications above in the application.

Additional Selection Criteria
1. Management will consider nepotism/conflict of interest, budget, and residency status in determining successful candidacy. 2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply. 3. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment. 4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule. 5. The candidate must be able to obtain and hold a security clearance.
