A celebrated virtuoso, Laureate of 8 international “Grand Prix” including the Queen Elizabeth and Tchaikovsky prizes. Having performed his first concert in New York at age 5, he studied with Robertas Casadeus in France, then again in New York at the Juilliard School of Music where he obtained top awards under leadership of Sasha Gorodnitzki. A Franco-American, François-Joel Thiollier performed 86 concerts of classical repertoire with leading orchestras and conductors in more than 40 countries of the world, to the highest acclaim. Prestigious concert halls where he appeared include Salle Pleyel and the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Teatro Real and Auditorium in Madrid, Victoria Hall in Geneva, La Scala in Milan, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Philharmonie in Berlin and Gewandhaus in Leipzig, the Suntory Hall in Tokyo etc.
