The European Commission is launching a pilot project aiming to offer scholarships to students from the countries covered by the European Neighbourhood Policy Instrument (ENPI) to study at the College of Europe in the academic year 2007 - 2008. An amount of € 800,000 has been made available for this initiative by the European Parliament in the framework of the budgetary procedure.
The Commission will finance 35 scholarships for students from ENPI countries who are interested to attend a course at the College of Europe. The student grant will be of the same level as in the Erasmus Mundus Programme (€ 21,000 to cover registration fees, travels, stay at the College and any other subsistence costs). The College of Europe is based in Bruges (Belgium) and focuses on postgraduate European studies in the fields of law, economy, political science and international relations (
http://www.coleurop.be).
A call for applications invites graduate students from the ENPI countries to submit applications. The assessment of the applications and the selection of students will be under the full responsibility of the European Commission. The Directorate-General for Education and Culture is in charge of the implementation of the project and will be assisted by academic experts in the assessment of the applications.
Please find attached the English and French versions of the call. As you can see, the deadline of this call is very tight (13 April 2007).
