Gelfand surprises by defeating Aronian 09/18/2007
Before the beginning of the World Chess Championship Mexico 2007, it was said that anyone could win. Israeli grand master Boris Gelfand defeated Armenian star Levon Aronian, reaching the second place of the standing with the young Grischuk and world defending champion, with 3 points, following the lead of Vishwanantan Anand, ahead with 3.5.

The easy draw syndrome
The world champion, Vladimir Kramnik, made a draw with armenian grand master Levon Aronian, in just 21 moves.
Closing his sixth round, Kramnik has got 3.5, while the Armenian, who is recovering from a sudden illness, has got 2.5.
