Samsung Korea has just announced the new Preston mobile phone, otherwise known as the Samsung S5600. This full touch mobile phone boasts of compact design and intuitive interface at a very affordable price. The Samsung S5600 is part of the company’s drive towards establishing a consumer-oriented mobile phone with full touch screen features.
Specifically the Samsung Preston or S5600 is geared for the style-conscious mobile phone users. It features a slim and compact design with full
Internet browsing support. The phone has an accelerometer sensor which allows for auto-rotation function. And for your mobile Internet browsing needs, the Samsung Preston boasts of 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity.
The Samsung Preston features the TouchWiz User Interface and “Gesture Lock” which allows users to fully customize and personalize the phone to suit their needs. Users can also add widgets onto the phone’s screen to allow one-click access to their favorite applications.
Other features of the Samsung Preston include a 3.2 mega-pizel camera, music recognition using Shazam’s “Find Music” service, 80 MB internal memory, microSD slot up to 8GB, multi-codec support such as H.263, MPEG4, and WMV.
The Samsung Preston is slated for a May release in Europe and Asia. It will be available in Sweet Pink, Snow White, and Charcoal grey.
No words on pricing yet, but we take Samsung’s word that the Samsung Preston will be marketed as affordably as possible.
