Using the OverlayMixer filter in DirectShow??

Does anyone have an example of how to use the overlay mixer filter provided by DirectShow?????

I want to add some text to an MPEG stream by using the overlay mixer.

At present I can't even connect the pins from the MPEGDecoderFiler to the Overlay mixer. I keep getting this error:

Failed to create an overlay surface Y41P<BR>Failed to create an overlay surface <BR>Failed to create an overlay surface On and On...

Has anyone worked with the overlay mixer filter??
