JOB TITLE: Director for Economic Opportunities - Washington, DC +b

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Director determines the strategic direction,
ensures quality of technical work and develops funding opportunities for
the Economic Opportunities (microfinance) programs at Save the Children.
S/he is also responsible for building the capacity of the growing Save
the Children Microfinance Network of programs and independent partners
currently serving more than 218,000 clients in 18 countries, as well as
coordination with other SC/US departments, field offices, and technical
offices. The Director also provides day-to-day supervision and
management of and support to the Economic Opportunities staff and
overseas routine administration. SC/US's microfinance programs are
committed to providing access to financial services to poor
entrepreneurial women while maintaining best practices, including a
focus on financial sustainability.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- MA in relevant field;
- 10 years experience and recognized leadership in the microfinance
field;
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and management skills;
- Fundraising ability;
- Proficiency in a second language, specifically French, is desirable.
