But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation.

Woe unto you that are full now, for ye shall hunger.

Woe unto you that laugh now, for ye shall mourn and weep.

Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you, for so did their fathers to the false prophets.

Երանի հոգով աղքատներին, որ նորանցն է երնքի թագավորությունը:

Երանի սգաւորներին, որ նորանք կ´մխիթարուին:

Երանի հեզերին, որ նորանք կ´ժառանգեն երկիրը:

Երանի նորանց, որ սոված եւ ծարավ են արդարութեան, որ նորանք կը կշտանան:

Երանի ողորմածներին, որ նորանք ողորմություն կ´գտնեն:

Երանի նորանց, որ սրտով մաքուր են, որ նորանք Աստուծուն կ´տեսնեն:

Երանի խաղաղություն անողներին, որ նորանք Աստուծոյ որդիք կը կոչուին:

Երանի նորանց` որ արդարութեան համար հալածուած են, որ նորանցն է երկնքի արքայութիւնը:

Երանի ձեզ, երբոր կ´նախատեն ձեզ եւ կ´հալածեն եւ ամեն չար բան սուտ տեղը կ´ասեն ձեր վերայ իմ պատճառովը:

Ուրախացեք եւ ցնծացէք, որ ձեր վարձքը շատ է երկնքումը. որովհետեւ այսպէս հալածեցին մարգարեներին, որ ձեզանից առաջ կային:

Բայց վայ ձեզ` հարուստներիդ, որ ձեր մխիթարությունն ընդունեցիք:

Վայ ձեզ` որ կշտացել եք, որ պիտի սովիք.

Վայ ձեզ` որ հիմա ծիծաղում եք, որ սուգ պիտի անէք, եւ լաց պիտի լինիք:

Վայ ձեզ` երբոր ամեն մարդիկ ձեզանից բարի ասեն, որովհետեւ այդպէս էին անում սուտ մարգարէներին նորանց հայրերը:
